Hi, my name is Michele Fenu. I was born in San Vero Milis, Sardinia, in the glorious and Orwellian year of 1984. I studied cinematography in Rome and graduated in computer science in Turin.

These days I live in Arbatax, on the east coast of Sardinia, and work remotely as a frontend software developer. In the past, I’ve also done consulting for digital installations and worked on video projects as a director or cinematographer. I don’t fix printers—unless you’re my mom.

Back in 2005, together with some people I met online, we created the Italian Online Movie Awards, the first Italian online film award voted by the public. After more than 13 editions, we decided to put the project on hold, and I moved on to other things.

I’ve gone ghost hunting with CICAP, for whom I produced several video projects. For over 10 years, I also collaborated with the Time in Jazz festival, helping to build their multimedia archive. I’m currently vice president of proxy, a cultural association dedicated to making digital culture accessible to everyone.

I also do a fair number of random things. I play the diatonic accordion, I love cooking, playing video games, and spending hours staring at the winter sea. Lately, I’ve even started playing tennis.

I write this blog mostly for myself—but in the hope that someone else might read it. So feel free to write to me, or comment under the posts that allow it.
